Is the inability to turn on a computer an unreal expecation for a techie?

Dating has never been my biggest strength. I go on plenty of dates, try a few on for size and always seem to find that they don’t have enough. It's so hard to know the difference between having unreasonable expectations and having perfectly reasonable ones that aren't being met because the guy is wrong for you. I think at my core, I know when it's not enough. I once dated a guy who lived in the city, loved going to the farmers market, hang out at the park next to Ghirardelli, people watch at this great Coffee house and always make me laugh uncontrollably. I don’t know if it was the fact that we always were doing something or if he was just that good in bed, but I never realized that we never had one in depth conversation. Then I discovered why: I was at his apartment one day and noticed that he had a laptop. I asked if I could use it quick to check my email and he said, it didn’t work, his company had given it too him and after a week it wouldn’t start up again. Being the Techie that I am, I decided to take a look at it, after a few minutes I realized he had never plugged it in to recharge the battery. Duh! I was shocked to find out that he was not sharp enough to figure that out on his own, actually even more stunned to find out that I was dating a computer idiot. At that point I knew that what he was offering me just wasn't enough. But still the relationship lingered on for a couple of months. He's sweet and successful, attractive, Can’t turn on a computer and after a few more conversations pretty much dumb. I kept telling myself. C’mon...is it really that bad? Looking back, it's obvious that it's was, but in the moment, I was actually able to reconcile that maybe, just maybe he could be a good guy to date.

Too bad I already dumped him! Every heard of that song 21 Things from Alanis Morisette? I need to do my own version!
